The makers of La Aurora Preferidos and 100 Anos harvested an exceptional crop of tobacco back in 2003. Only the finest leaves from the crop were selected and then aged for 5 years. In 2008, this well aged rare tobacco was used to make The Puro Vintage 2003 by La Aurora. Only 1500 boxes have been made of these full bodied Ecuadorian wrapped Solomon cigars.
The La Aurora Puro Vintage 2003 Salomon is a limited edition of only 12,000 sticks; 1500 boxes of 8 cigars each. They only had two rollers make them: sixty sticks per day. After the cigar is bunched, they draw test each one, after that two hours in the press, after that the wrapper is put on, then draw tested again. This is done to have the a perfect draw, then eights months of aging. Word is that they’re already working on the Vintage 2004’s. This limited-edition Dominican smoke is a gorgeous cigar measuring 7 1/2 inches long with a massive 58 ring gauge. It’s full of coffee bean flavors and lush, meaty fruits, and was rated with a score of 92 points for the first time by Cigar Insider in January 2009. The smoke retails for $25.
