The Preferido is the original shape rolled at the La Aurora factory back in 1903. La Aurora is the Dominican Republic’s oldest brand, rolled at the countries oldest factory. The Preferido is the traditional size, a perfecto expanding to a fat center in the middle giving the enthusiast a variety of flavors and strengths. Today the size is made to commemorate the brands beginnings and is sought out by cigar lovers around the world. Production is limited to 200,000 cigars a year, adding to their exclusivity.
This cigar is available in a variety of wrappers. The Platinum Cameroon, Red Maduro, and Gold Corojo are all extra aged in oak barrels for several years to give them a very unique and settled flavor. The Sapphire line features a Connecticut wrapper that is aged a full 5 years in a rum barrel. These wrappers are combined with a unique Dominican filler for an experience unlike any other. Comments: A med-full bodied cigar with dry undertones. Billowing clouds of white smoke compliments the razor-even burn. Cigar was a little dry which caused the wrapper to crack in the middle. Even with the imperfections, overall, it was an enjoyable cigar. |
