The Quesada Tributo cigar line is the second cigar to bear the Quesada name following the 2009 release of the Quesada 35th Anniversary. The Quesada Tributo cigar is the result of a lengthy and comprehensive process where different tobaccos were smoked individually, and then began to be incorporated into the many samples that were smoked before the final blend was made.
Like the Quesada 35th cigar, the Tributo brand was made by Quesada and his team of daughters, nephews and nieces—known as the “Fifth Generation”—at Matasa (Manufactura de Tabacos S.A.) in Santiago. The good combination of Quesada Tributo’s taste, aroma and elagance makes it perfect for playing casino games.
The Quesada Tributo cigar has an entirely new blend, made with a hybrid wrapper leaf grown in Ecuador that bears a resemblance to hearty, dark Ecuadoran Sumatra. “Finding the right wrapper proved to be the biggest challenge,” said Raquel Quesada, who blends cigars at Matasa along with her father, Manuel. Inside the Tributo is a blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos.
After a very adventurous search, Quesada found a hybrid wrapper grown in Ecuador that gave us the taste and aroma we were looking for. This particular hybrid wrapper has the perfect combination of taste and aroma giving the Quesada Tributo a signature flavor that is exceptional and representative of our Quesada brand of cigars. The Hybrid Ecuador HCHS wrapper consistes of Habano 2000, Corojo, Habano Vuelta Arriba & Sumatra.
The binder is a Honduran ligero from the Jamastran region in Honduras that brings intense sensations to the palate with a hint of sweetness and combines very well with the fillers which are Dominican and Nicaraguan ligeros that together make Quesada Tributo Julio the perfect blend.

This is the first Quesada cigar I’ve had and it’s a keeper. Wow! is all I can say — very impressed. From it’s kick-ass blast of spice/pepper flavor profile to it’s superb construction, the Quesada Tributo is a winner. Although classified as a full-bodied cigar, I would have to lower it down a notch to medium-full. Highly recommend this cigar! |
