| Henry Clay features a rough maduro wrapper that covers a medium bodied filler. While not overwhelmingly strong, it still has a unique and rich flavor.
Henry Clay cigars are named for the famous American politician of the same name (U.S. senator from Kentucky 1806-07, 1810-11, 1831-42, 1849-52; U.S. representative and Speaker of the House 1811-14, 1815-21, 1823-25; U.S. Secretary of State 1825-29) and have a cult like following. The cigar is a favorite of aficionados with a more refined palate who find it unique for its flavorful Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. This wrapper gives the cigar a medium body and robust aroma. The smoke from the Henry Clay has a chewy texture with strong earthy aromas and light spices. It is a great maduro cigar that is moderately priced. The old Henry Clay factory in Cuba is still featured on each box of Henry Clay cigars. After the Cuban Trade embargo and through today, Henry Clay cigars are produced in the Dominican Republic by the finest rollers at the Altadis factory. |
