| Padilla Achilles is a rich and complex cigar created using the same uncompromising quality control methods used when producing all other Padilla blends, but offered at an even more modest price.
Ernesto Padilla spares no expense when producing his award wining blends. He is known for using exclusive, limited tobaccos in his cigars; most of which create unique flavors unnoticeable in other cigars, especially since they are blended to his exacting standards. With Padilla, top-notch, quality construction is a standard and even his more moderately priced cigars consist of the same quality. All of Padilla’s blends use long leaf tobaccos and offer perfect burn and combustion – features one would expect coming from one of the top 10 manufacturers in the business. Padilla Achilles is an excellent blend. Wrapped with a shiny, Habano wrapper that offers some spicy undertones mixed with light pepper, Achilles consists of a complex mix of long fillers stemming from the soils of Nicaragua, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. The cigar burns clean and smooth, while expelling a creamy white smoke that offers notes of cedar and earth, which are far from offensive. The cigar is complex, with notes of earth and pepper that build from the start, leaving a slightly spicy aftertaste on the palate with an enjoyably long finish. There are some sweet nuances intermixed throughout the cigar but overall, this blend is medium-bodied with a unique toasty flavor that is rich and enjoyable time and time again. |

| Padilla Series 68 is the final chapter in the trilogy Ernesto released in honor of his father, one of the world’s most renowned poets.
Rolled with a Nicaraguan corojo wrapper taken from some of the highest primings on the tobacco plant, this delicate reddish leaf is expertly blended with Havana-seed fillers from Jalapa and Condega, two of Nicaragua’s premier growing regions. The resulting cigar is medium to full-bodied combining earthy flavors with some sweetness that derives from the wrapper. The Series 68 stands for 1968, the year Enesto Padilla’s father compiled his most controversial work, one that ultimately led to his imprisonment in Cuba for speaking out against Castro’s communist regime. The Series 68 is the only cigar in the Padilla tribute line that is hand rolled in Honduras. |
